The Purchase department you will work in is responsible for the direct costs of the organization. This department has various disciplines, including purchasing, administration and engineering. In total, the team consists of approximately 20 people, 6 of whom work in the Netherlands. The rest of the team is located throughout Europe. These colleagues are mainly account managers being responsible for sourcing suppliers in their home country.
You will be managing our suppliers together with our local account manager in approximately 7 European countries with the following tasks and responsibilities:
• You will be able to make important commercial decisions;
• You will be the first escalation level for our local buyers;
• You will be (co-)responsible for promoting, monitoring and improving the company’s group-wide processes;
• Determining and risk management of our supplier base;
• You are a good relationship manager both with colleagues and with our suppliers.
• You have at least a bachelor’s degree (Master is preferred) and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar position (preferably in the Transport and Logistics sector);
• You recognize opportunities that are of benefit to the organization and see it as a challenge to convert them into real successes;
• You easily make contact with other people;
• You are customer-oriented, and you are able to translate customer problems into good solutions;
• You solve errors correctly and your experience allows you to prevent future problems or missteps;
• You are willing to travel to different countries within Europe at least every month with the freedom to make your own schedule.
